Founded in June 2021, BRIDGE Infrastructure Fund is a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. BRIDGE Movements Fund, our separate but affiliated project, is a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy Action Fund, a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. 

 

Position Summary

At BRIDGE, we know the best solutions to our most challenging issues are already in our communities; and it’s up to us to find, nurture, and grow them. The path forward for a better, more just, and more equitable Texas is by creating a network of strategic, focused, local, and intentional Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC)-led organizations that are seamlessly integrated into the existing progressive network.

The Development Manager is a key income-generating position reporting directly to the Finance and Operations Director. This role requires a passionate advocate for startup organizations and founders leading innovative democracy and justice projects across Texas. Primary responsibilities include building and managing a prospect and donor portfolio to support key programs and network startups. The Development Manager will oversee all aspects of the donor development cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, acknowledgment, and stewardship.

Roles and Responsibilities

Individual and Major Donors (30% time allocation)

  • Identify and qualify major gift prospects by gathering data and analyzing a donor’s capacity and potential to give.
  • Build relationships with and move prospective donors through the donor pipeline toward solicitation.
  • Develop and implement stewardship strategies for a personalized portfolio of small, medium, and major gift donors to ensure renewals and multi-year gifts.

 

Institutional Funders (45% time allocation)

  • Research and identify new funding opportunities for BRIDGE and network organizations.
  • Oversee grant processes from application to final report, ensuring projects meet benchmarks and expectations.
  • Collaborate with staff to manage grant timelines, track applications and deliverables, and maintain grant documentation.
  • Evaluate existing grant tracking systems and develop, implement, and document new systems as needed.

 

Training and Development (10% time allocation)

  • Design, implement, support, and lead fundraising training sessions and workshops for BRIDGE programs, including Incubator, Accelerator, and Collective (Alumni), with the support of the Finance and Operations Director
  • Plan and manage regular office hours for BRIDGE program participants, leaders, organizations, and alumni to support fundraising education, grant applications, donor research, and strategy.
  • Partner with the Executive Director to ensure BRIDGE program participants are meeting or exceeding their individual development goals; help keep program participants accountable through coaching and performance improvement plans, as needed.

 

Administrative, Marketing, and Collaboration (15% time allocation)

  • Work with the Finance and Operations Director to achieve annual fundraising goals
  • Develop and implement quarterly and annual fundraising plans
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward potential and existing donors
  • Maintain accurate records of donor information and interactions using organization tools and methods
  • Contribute to the development of the organization’s annual budget and fundraising plan
  • Become familiar with BRIDGE’s goals, programs, and financial needs to support fundraising efforts
  • Speak at public events about BRIDGE’s work, arrange and manage quarterly donor briefings and fundraising events, and represent BRIDGE at partner convenings and industry conferences; and, 
  • Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.

  • Proficiency in data entry and computing (preferably with Google Suite)
  • Adherence to NEO’s COVID-19 vaccination and booster policy (medical and religious exemptions considered)

 

Desired 

  • Familiarity with the funding landscape for organizations that support Black, LGBTQIA+, and/or migrant communities;
  • A proven ability to build relationships with donors, close five and six-figure gifts, and encourage donors to increase their giving levels;
  • An understanding of IRS regulations, multi-entity fundraising, and compliance requirements, including the ability to raise both 501( c)(3) charitable gifts and 501( c)(4) social welfare gifts;
  • Extensive experience in nonprofit development or community fundraising, or a demonstrated history of creating and implementing grant tracking systems.

Job Details

The Development Manager is a full-time, exempt position with BRIDGE Infrastructure Fund, a fiscally sponsored project of NEO Philanthropy, a 501( c)(3) charitable organization. As an employee of NEO Philanthropy, Inc., the Development Manager will earn an annual salary of $60,000-$65,000 depending on experience.

 

Hours and Travel

While the typical work week is 40 hours, occasional extended hours, including nights and weekends, may be required for program events. Travel of up to 20% per month may also be necessary. The position start date is Monday, April 21, 2025.
